The Space Science Institute (SSI) is a non-profit organization located in Boulder, Colorado. Its mission is to advance our understanding of Earth and the universe through scientific research, and to promote science and technology literacy for people of all ages.
The institute has over 40 scientists who conduct research in astrophysics, planetary science, and space physics. It also focuses on translating scientific discoveries into educational programs and public outreach projects, including tours, museum exhibits, and interactive games. The SSI is funded by grants, contracts, and donations.
