Speeches from the Grand Opening of the CAAAS

CU Boulder kicked off Black History Month by opening the Center of African and African American Studies, known as the CAAAS (“the cause”) for short.

The event drew a standing room only crowd to its new space in the Macky Auditorium building. In the next half hour, we’ll hear two speeches from the inauguration of the Center for African and African American Studies. First up is Annett James, CU Boulder alumnus and president of the NAACP of Boulder County. Introducing her is Dr. Reiland Rabaka, director of the CAAAS.
