Thom LaFond and Fruta Brutal at The Velvet Elk Lounge

Thom LaFond delivers pure, unbridled emotion, backed with lush and curious arrangements. Fans of Tom Waits, Andrew Bird, & Elliott Smith will appreciate the sonic and lyrical worlds Thom creates. Transplanted from New York to Nederland, CO, LaFond is actively producing, performing, and touring nationally with his quartet Banshee Tree. This show album release for “Lawless.” “Lawless” LP is set for release on February 1st, 2024. The first single, “Survival Chimes,” is out now on all streaming platforms.

Fruta Brutal is a bilingual indie latin rock band hailing from Denver, Colorado. Martín Better Longo, born in Ecuador and raised in the U.S., is the creative force behind the band. Martín’s extensive travels through Central and South America, where he’s gained exposure to Brazilian Tropicália and Argentinian Rock and Hip Hop music, as well as his experience as a latino immigrant in the U.S., are the foundation for Fruta Brutal’s repertoire and its purpose of promoting cultural diversity.

Fruta Brutal performs live as a quintet, quartet or trio, with diverse band members: Zoe Moff, Ben Weirich, Talib Grant, Nico Jimenez, and Martín Better Longo.

Bar opens at 5 PM and happy hour from open to 7 PM. (21+) The Velvet Elk Lounge does not allow minors – No Exceptions.
