Friends of Chamber Music opens its 2024-25 season with the Grammy Award-winning Takács Quartet, celebrating their 50th anniversary. Artists in Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder, the world-renowned Takács Quartet was the first string quartet to receive the prestigious Wigmore Hall Medal (2014) and be inducted into Gramophone’s Hall of Fame (2012). The concert will be held on Sunday, September 8, at 4:00 PM in Gates Concert Hall, Newman Center for the Performing Arts, 2344 E. Iliff Avenue in Denver.
Program: W.A. Mozart’s Quartet No. 15 in D minor, K. 421; Benjamin Britten’s Quartet No. 2 in C major, Op. 36; and Ludwig van Beethoven: Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135.
