PUNK IS DAD – Remembering Dorian De Long
Dorian De Long was an educator, activist, and family man, but when not working or enjoying time with his wife and young daughter, Dorian could be found at the Larimer Lounge, 3 Kings, Hi-Dive, the Bluebird Theater, or one of Denver’s other live music venues.
Following his death of a heart attack in May 2015, a group of Dorian’s friends printed t-shirts that featured Buster, the De Long family’s Boston Terrier, which Dorian would stencil on stickers and magnets and put up around town. On the back of the shirt the guys printed “PUNK IS DAD,” which they took from Dorian’s Facebook cover photo.
The first Punk Is Dad events were held at the Oriental Theater in May 2016, mainly to occupy the energies of Dorian’s family and friends on the first anniversary of his death. Events were held each of the following years until COVID-19 forced the cancellation of Punk Is Dad 5 in 2020.

SPELLS
SPELLS is a five-piece rock band from Denver, CO, known for their intense melody and driving rhythms. Founded in 2013, they produce short blasts of vacation rock, aiming to entertain themselves and play shows in cities with beaches or buddies nearby. Over the past decade, SPELLS has released three full-length albums and two compilation records, working with labels like SNAPPY LITTLE NUMBERS, ANXIOUS & ANGRY, and RAD GIRLFRIEND RECORDS. They have shared the stage with bands like HOT SNAKES and THE BOUNCING SOULS and played festivals such as SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST and FEST. SPELLS continues to write, record, and perform new music, always on the lookout for the best taco recommendations.
Sputnik Slovenia
Sputnik Slovenia has been a staple of the Denver and national music scene for over 20 years. Starting with Pagan Ritual on the west coast, Sputnik has fronted local bands like Evil Hick, Negative Man, and Jet Black Joy. Known for blending humor, politics, and diverse musical styles, Sputnik has gained local cult hero status. He has also toured nationally and internationally with acts like Agent Orange and Horace Pinker.
