Julia Kirkwood – alternative pop, rock

August 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm MDT

Julia has been deeply rooted in music since childhood. She started playing the piano as her first instrument at just 6 years old. She used to improvise on the piano her mother kept in the guest room of their house until she was put into piano lessons with Foundations Music School. She continued lessons for 5 years and began singing with the Children’s Centennial Chorus in the 3rd grade. From there, Julia Kirkwood began writing music at just 12 years old. Her first composition, Flying, was inspired by her 5th-grade Eco-Week adventures. Growing up in Laporte, just 10 minutes away from the vibrant city of Fort Collins, Julia was always surrounded by musical influence. Throughout elementary school, Julia Participated in the modern band program at her school. She had the opportunity to perform at the CSU Lagoon Series and the Jam Summit with her bandmates and friends. It was easy for her parents to see that this passion for music would be long-lasting.
