Jason Brandt Band w/ Pamela Machala Band and Racyne Parker at Roots Music Project

January 12, 2024 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm MST

Jason Brandt Band
This quintet born in Boulder, CO and led by multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Jason Brandt delivers punchy funk-rock with an Americana spirit. Song styles range from sweet and mellow to upbeat and bluesy, featuring smart, bittersweet lyrics and soulful instrumental solos on keyboards, electric guitar, and saxophone. The band’s influences include roots rock and crossover funk legends from the ‘60s and beyond, evocative of Jimi Hendrix, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Herbie Hancock, Hall & Oates, Black Keys, White Stripes, and Lake Street Dive. Brandt released his first single, classic Americana tune “Cat’s Got My Tongue,” in January of 2021 and his freshman EP, Jason Brandt & the Build-Out, that following September. His most recent single, “Green Fixie,” a head-bopping tribute to the sensation of fixed-gear cycling, was released in July 2023.

Pamela Machala Band
“Pamela Machala artfully turns a phrase and yet still manages to make us dance…[her] piano-rich gems are in the storyteller vein of Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles, yet they are distinctly hers.” – Colorado Daily

Colorado-based singer, songwriter, and pianist Pamela Machala (“MOCK-uh-luh”) writes “pop music for deeper listening” (BolderBeat) with influences ranging from jazz and soul to musical theater and folk. She was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2019 SongDoor International Songwriting Competition, was a 2021 Finalist in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase, and has opened for artists including Lisa Loeb and Rachel Price. Her all-female backing band takes her sound to the next level, reminiscent of 70’s favorites like Carole King and James Taylor.

Racyne Parker
Originally from Southern Oregon, Denver based singer-songwriter Racyne Parker draws inspiration from country, modern folk, indie rock, and pop influences, to deliver catchy lyrics, warm vocals, and a contemporary style that fits in well on playlists next to Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, Jewel, and Miranda Lambert. Her songs draw on her experiences with living in and leaving a small town, navigating uncertainty in love and life in her 20s, and finding joy in the little moments.

A performer with a low-stakes, kind, and engaging stage presence, Racyne makes room for story-telling, sing-alongs of cover songs, and making friends throughout her live sets, gigs, and shows. She’s grateful for any chance she gets to perform and is happy to have you along for the ride!
