Ethan Frank & Friends

Ethan Frank is a pianist and composer in the Denver and Detroit metro areas who specializes in jazz music, improvisational music, and composition.

Ethan is a Colorado native and graduate of Denver School of the Arts, a participant in the online forum of the Herbie Hancock Institute, and a veteran of the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA). He was honored to play at Red Rocks with the CCJA flagship group known as the Jazz Messengers and was a member of the DownBeat award-winning Jazz Orchestra I ensemble at Denver School of the Arts.

The band participated in the 2020 Essentially Ellington competition and was highly praised for its members’ musical ability and cohesiveness as a band. In addition to this, Ethan is an alumnus of the 2023 Telluride Jazz All-Star Band. Ethan is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University where he studies with mentors including Xavier Davis, Walter Blanding, Randy Gelispie, and Rodney Whitaker. His compositional style is one of the hallmarks of his musicianship and features many styles ranging from bebop, classical music, and folk influences.
