StoneHall
StoneHall is Mountain Folk and Bluegrass music from Nederland, Colorado. Their experience and humor-filled stagecraft enliven performances on stages like The Pagosa Folk N’ Bluegrass Festival, Four Corners Folk Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest and Red Lodge Songwriter Festival. Soulful vocals and instrumental arrangements, and original songs inspired by the angle of the sun, and a longing of the heart are riveting.
The band is comprised of veteran guitarist-singer-songwriter Eric Richard Stone who has delivered a well-seasoned palette of original folk, bluegrass and americana music since the 1980’s. Back then he opened for the likes of Utah Phillips, Tom Rush, and Chuck Pyle. But life takes its unexpected twists and turns. What happened during those next 30 plus years could best be described as “LIfe, Marriage, grad school, a career, raising three kids and turning back to music again. Now, 37 years and seven CDs later, he is just hitting his stride.
On mandolin is fellow singer-songwriter, Tom Hall. With roots in New England and the desert Southwest, Tom’s experienced harmonies, songwriting and instrumental prowess provide texture and diversity to each performance.
The trio will be joined on fiddle by Emily Wilson who teaches mandolin and violin at American Music School in Lakewood,CO . She started playing as a kid, piano at 5, fiddle at 9, mandolin around 13. She started college in Durango and later transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver where she completed a BA in music.
