Charles Blenzig & Simple Math

August 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm MDT

In recent years, legendary NYC Jazz Pianist, Composer, Arranger, and Professor, Charles Blenzig, relocated from Astoria, Queens to Longmont, Colorado where he has formed an exciting new trio, “Blenzig & Simple Math”, featuring prodigy Drummer J.J. Mazza and Hunter Roberts on Bass. The Trio has a unique, modern sound that comes from a mutual trust, diverse experiences, and ineffable chemistry. In the tradition of seasoned elders collaborating with the young bloods, this project seeks to blend the “was” with the “iz” for what’s to come through fresh rhythm and harmony and celebrate the transcendent power of music on the human condition.

Charles has worked with The Gil Evans Orchestra, Michael Brecker, Gato Barbieri, Bill Evans (Sax w. Miles Davis), Marcus Miller, Mike Stern, Will Lee, Larry Coryell, Eddie Gomez, Grady Tate, Patti Austin, Roy Ayers, John Patitucci, Harvey Mason, Lee Ritenour, Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl, and many others. Charles is also the Musical Director for singer-songwriter Michael Franks, for whom he also arranged and performed Franks’ music with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
