Allison Young Quartet

January 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm MST

Saxophonist Allison Young makes her Muse debut paying tribute to the great baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan with her quartet (Kate Williams – trumpet, Domi Edson – bass, and Ian Spillman – drums). The Allison Young Quartet captures the essence of the west coast/cool jazz chordless quartet popularized by Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, and will be playing a lively mix of Mulligan hits and lesser known compositions. The quartet has celebrated Mulligan’s music at venues across Colorado, and are excited to be recording this performance for a live album.

Allison Young is a Colorado based saxophonist who performs as a with groups such as the Drew Zaremba Jazz Fellowship, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, and the Annie Booth Big Band. Most recently, she toured North America as the baritone saxophonist for the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. She has performed alongside artists such as Wayne Bergeron, Sheila Jordan, Greg Gisbert, Steve Kovalcheck, and Gabriel Mervine, and recently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Music Business.
