Friends of Chamber Music is thrilled to present St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble, a world-class chamber orchestra renowned for its exceptional interpretations of great orchestral music. The Chamber Ensemble comprises the orchestra’s principal musicians, led by violinist Tomo Keller. Their versatility is on display with virtuosic performances ranging from string quintets and octets to works featuring wind players. The program includes Dmitri Shostakovich’s Two pieces for String Octet, Op. 11; Erwin Schulhoff’s Sextet for Strings, and Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings in E-flat major, Op. 20.
