Dominique Christina: Poetic Justice in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
|
Motus Theater, in collaboration with the CU-Boulder Student Creative Writing Association, will bring to Boulder the award-winning feminist slam-poet, and educator Dominique Christina, who will perform some of her poetry that resonates with the teachings and legacies of Dr. King, challenging all of us to turn Dr. King's legacy into action.
Dominique Christina is the only person to have won two Women of the World Poetry Championships. Among other achievements, she holds five national poetry slam titles. Her poetry is widely published, and she has presented her poetry all over the world. She's also an actor and writer for the HBO series Hight Maintenance (see a full bio and links below).
Dominique Christina: Poetic Justice in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day will take place on Saturday, Jan 13, 2018, from 6-8pm at the Old Main Chapel (CU-Boulder).
After her performance, Dominique Christina will engage the audience in a conversation about her poetry and current civil rights issues.
The emerging poet and CU-Boulder graduated student Natalie Sharp will open for Dominique Christina's performance (see a brief bio below).
