KGNU is proud to collaborate with Art& at the newly renovated McNichols Civic Center Building.

Art&, in collaboration with Denver Arts & Venues and the Drug Policy Alliance, will bring a day of panel discussions, workshops and special events that will bring together the Denver creative community and foster collaboration and growth with other local industries. The day will be offered free of charge. Please register at artanddenver.com. The first 300 people to register will receive free food and drinks.

KGNU's Dave Ashton will be part of the Technology& Panel from 4:55-6:00 PM. Please come out and support Dave! His topic will be "Community Radio in the 21st Century: a Non-Zombie Option." Dave will explore the relationship between algorithmic music accompaniment and everyday life or "streaming" and consumer expectations - predictive programming in the public sphere. Dave will present the "participatory media" model of Community Radio as a counterbalance to "social media" and it's vice-grip on the modern imagination. The visual representation is that of a massive boombox blasting the earbuds out of a succession of startled faces.
