RockyGrass Broadcast Coverage
KGNU Broadcasts Live from the Sold Out 42nd Annual RockyGrass Festival

The RockyGrass bluegrass festival in Lyons is sold-out, but KGNU radio has once again found a way to sneak everyone inside. Since 2008, the local community radio station has broadcast live backstage from the festival. This year, we'll once again be offering a continuous live stream from the stage from our 24/7 music website AfterFM.com. The non-stop RockyGrass stream will be available through AfterFM starting the morning of Friday July 24th. The stream will unite with the terrestrial broadcasts of KGNU for festival highlights and live performances on 88.5 FM and 1390 AM on Friday July 25th from 9:30 AM-noon, and on Saturday and Sunday July 25th & 26th from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. For the first time this year, we'll also be adding 6pm-9pm Saturday to our airwaves, preempting the BBC News Hour, Sound Lab, and The Grateful Dead Hour. When radio broadcasts end, listeners will be able to continue hearing a direct link to the stage from the dedicated RockyGrass stream.

AfterFM is also home to a collection of RockyGrass archives at http://www.afterfm.com/rockygrass. These archives have been a popular destination for Bluegrass fans locally and around the world. The online archives were launched in 2012 in conjunction with KGNU's festival coverage. 2015 performances will be added to the archives throughout the weekend as the festival unfolds. Throughout the festival, we'll be featuring live sets, highlights, interviews, and more, from backstage at RockyGrass.

KGNU has been broadcasting live from RockyGrass every year since 2008. In 2012 we began adding a few festival highlights online. Listen, enjoy, and please spread the word about the live RockyGrass stream and archives.

KGNU is volunteer-powered, listener supported, independent community radio. The station has been broadcasting since 1978 with a mix of news, culture, and eclectic music. KGNU provides an open door to the community. Over 250 volunteers program the station and work behind the scenes to keep the radio station running. More than 5,000 listeners support the station financially as members.
