Mic Squeezed Tightly

When rap mastermind Nas declared "all I need is one mic," he could have been describing the mindset of the stand-up comedian. On Friday, February 7th, explore the commonalities of stand-up comedy and Hip-Hop with "Mic Squeezed Tightly", a fundraiser for KGNU Community Radio, at Denver's Deer Pile, above City o' City Restaurant, 206 E. 13th St. at Grant. Comedians Mara Wiles, Jordan Doll, and Kristin Rand will join Hip-Hop acts Url Gravy, Council of Word, and DJ Cavem in a demonstration of proper mic control. Big beats and belly laughs will flow freely. Doors open at 8:30pm, show starts at 9.

"Mic Squeezed Tightly" is the second in KGNU's "10 for 10" series celebrating 10 years in Denver at 1390 AM. Join us Friday February 7th at the Deer Pile, winner of Westword's "Best New Community Space 2012".

A suggested donation of $10 at the door - all proceeds benefit KGNU Community Radio.
