To the family of Lance Allrunner, to his wife and son, Dawn & Phoenix and his parents, Carla & Darrell Wildcat, and sister Mindy. Lance died March 5, 2010, in Lawton, Oklahoma of a heart attack and was buried March 9, 2010, at the Cache Creek Cemetery west of Apache, OK. Natives communities throughout the country will mourn our leaders. To anyone else who has recently lost a family member in the Indian community. Our prayers and positive thoughts are with the families in their time of sorrow and mourning. May they all rest in peace!

Community Reentry Project for Denver residents exiting the Denver County Jail. They conduct classes both inside and outside of the jail. Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber has Colorado American Indian Scholars Specialty License Plates that Benefit the Scholarship Fund, You need not be an American Indian or a student to buy a plate, just have a desire to support the higher education of deserving Indian students. The proceeds go to a scholarship for American Indian Colorado residents who attend a Colorado institution of higher learning. You need to purchase a certificate from the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber for $25 to take to your Motor Vehicle department in order to buy a plate. Promoting Responsible Fatherhood Program, Class is held every Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. This is an educational opportunity for fathers wanting to strengthen their parenting skills. They have added a co-ed group that will also meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The co-ed group will focus on couples and women in single parent households. The groups will follow a 12 session curriculum of the Fatherhood is Sacred program. The American Indian Nurturing Parenting Program at DIFRC is held on Tuesdays, March 2 - June 8, 2010, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. This Program is a free, 16 week group based program where parents and children learn about age appropriate parenting practices The American Indian Nurturing Parenting program will offer: Parent groups, youth groups, toddler groups, childcare for infants. Lacrosse is a fast exciting game to play & watch. Requiring speed, stamina and athletic ability and has been called the fastest game on two feet! The sessions are led by adult coaches with older youth assisting. Sticks are provided. The Saturday sessions give everyone a chance to learn and play the game. After short instruction and a drill period, all participants play a game. Half time sessions often include short talks on health, the importance of being drug and alcohol free, the different tribal traditions and legends of the game and its spiritual origin. Family members bring refreshments, visit and often join in the games.
