They are a local nonprofit car-sharing organization serving the Boulder-Denver metro area. eGo CarShare was started by a group of concerned Boulder citizens committed to minimizing their environmental impact. Their mission is to provide and promote alternatives to individual car ownership to reduce the environmental and social impacts of motor vehicle use. Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center

Wild Bear provides year-round, hands-on educational workshops aimed at fostering a life-long appreciation of the environment and promotes an ecologically sound community. Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center in Nederland offers science and nature workshops for children and adults, in hopes of inspiring youth to be curious about science and the outdoors. MESA: Canine Classic

The Canine Classic is a five kilometer run for runners, walkers, and dog lovers of all ages on Sunday, April 22 at the Boulder Reservoir. The Canine Classic is also a popular tune-up for the Bolder Boulder; canine companions are encouraged but not required. Mike Murphy talked with host Angelica Kalika about this year’s festivities.

Hit the Stage

It began as an after-school program to teach teens stage performance skills. Hit the Stage helps students improve their self-esteem by providing performance opportunities with accomplished musicians as models. They take these new skills that into their lives at home, at school, and in the community. Its mission is to empower, build self-reliance, and inspire creativity in teens as an alternative to drug and alcohol use. Founder Danae Shanti chatted with host Nikki Kayser.

Glory Community

It’s a concept for establishing a community of residential homes and business enterprises for Front Range adults with intellectual disabilities. Glory Community started with Jim and Sandy Hembd when their twin sons Mike and Mark were born with Down syndrome in 1968. The community will include homes with live-in home teachers and caregiver apartments inside the homes. Host Luc got the details from Sandy Hembd.

Women’s Bean Project

University of Colorado Museum of Natural History

Boulder County Youth Corps

They enable Boulder County teens to develop a sense of community involvement through personal accomplishment, teamwork, and service to the county. Boulder County Youth Corps participants aged 14 to 17 complete projects for Boulder County departments, municipalities, and towns. Corpsmembers learn strong work habits, new skills, and the value of environmental and civic stewardship. First Descents

They offer young adult cancer fighters and survivors ages 18 to 39 a free outdoor adventure experience designed to empower them to climb, paddle, and surf beyond their diagnosis, defy their cancer, reclaim their lives, and connect with others doing the same. First Descents programs are available across the country for any young adult with cancer, regardless of physical challenges, diagnosis, or prognosis. Host Luc interviewed Amy May of Outside Media.

With their Yard Angels Program they turn donated front yards, back yards, unused plots, church land, school land, and more into lush, beautifully designed gardens that grow food for the community.
