An arts and sciences class of middle school students at Horizons K-8 School in Boulder has studied climate change. After an in-depth study on the science, students wrote skits and poems about how to change climate change. Searching for Midwifery
Thursday, January 5th, 2012The goal of Searching for Midwifery is to become a midwife who can bridge the gap between tradition and modern medicine by honoring both and finding a balance as they are applied to each unique pregnancy and birth. Henna Taylor chats with host Nikki Kayser about her 8 year project that includes apprenticeships in Cambodia, Nepal and Brazil before studying at the University of British Columbia.
Boulder City Boards and Commissions
Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012It is that time of year to consider serving your local government. Host Lucas Poglaze chats with Dianne Marshall about serving on the boards and commissions of Boulder City government. They are looking for a diverse group of citizens to advise the committee work and guide policy decisions. To apply for a board, you must be 18 years or older, currently live within the City of Boulder limits for at least a year and be registered to vote. Annual applications begin today.
Youth Corps
Monday, January 2nd, 2012Boulder County received a grant to hire more youth this summer. Host Nikki Kayser chats with some of the youth who worked in the Button Rock area last summer. They enjoyed being part of a team of peers who took on soil conservation and wildfire prevention. Many come back year after year to get skills for future jobs and earn some summer money while spending time outdoors. Judy Wolfe schedule youth with Boulder County Youth Corps.
