The Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center was founded in 1981 to address the lack of quality legal representation for abused and neglected children in Colorado. Without effective legal advocacy, these children were drifting in foster care for years on end, not receiving the physical and mental health care they needed, and often subjected to dangerous living conditions. KGNU’s Veronica Lingo sat down with Shari Shink, Founder and Executive Director to find out more about why she started the center in 1981.
