Cottonwood Institute

Dot Org Show

Cottonwood Institute gets teens in Denver and Boulder outdoors and engaged with their natural environment in their Community Adventure Program. Teachers Paige Doughty and Kate Hartman, and students Aleyna Porrecca, Aaron Fox and Zander Deetz at New Vista High School in Boulder are with the program. They are in a school club, Earth Task Force, which is kicking off a year of reducing their school’s carbon footprint. This week they are preparing a lunch of locally produced foods, hosting a lights-out lunch, serving coffee in ‘bring-your-own’ mugs and taking pledges from fellow students. On Earth Day they’ll be throwing the switch on the new solar panels and more.
