It is a positive community response to peak oil, climate change, and economic crisis that seeks to “unleash the collective genius” to respond to these monumental challenges. any community can use skills to rebuild local resilience and self-reliance by raising awareness about the critical issues involved, forming working groups to focus on issues of food, energy, and economy, creating visible practical manifestations of Transition, and working towards the creation of an Energy Descent Action Plan for that community.

Kelley Brupbacher, Director of Development explains to host Nikki Kayser that in 2001, ten young adults took to the rivers of Colorado in whitewater kayaks. For seven days, they learned the basics of the sport, eventually conquering Class III rapids before the week’s end. They were there to prove to themselves that cancer, no matter how aggressive, dormant, advanced, or invasive, would never be stronger than they were.

Rather than a diagnosis according to symptoms, they look at energetic disharmony in color, sound, odor or emotional being.
Girls Education International
Monday, September 21st, 2009Girls Education International provides scholarships for high school girls in Liberia. They are screening the film, “Pray The Devil Back to Hell” . It is the story of of ordinary women that mobilized peace talks that help end the bloody civil war. Lizzy Scully, Executive Director, explains to host Nikki Kayser how they give girls uniforms and food to help them finish school. Recently they found a partner in Pakistan working with secondary school girls in Laphi, Punjab.
