Denver Fair Food Campaign are community members in and around Denver who work in partnership with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a grassroots human rights organization of farmworkers working to end modern-day slavery and sweatshop labor conditions in Florida agriculture. Through an alliance of Denver residents and Florida workers, we seek to transform the purchasing practices of the corporate food industry in order to advance the human rights of farmworkers at the bottom of corporate supply chains. Wednesday, November 28th, 2007Each year, Olive Ridley sea turtles return from their inter-oceanic migrations to the beaches where they were hatched. Hundreds of thousands congregate and mate in the offshore waters. Then, as if on cue, the females lumber ashore to lay their eggs. Their arrival — by the hundreds of thousands on a given beach — is heralded by the Spanish term for this remarkable event, the arribada. Arribadas occur in only three locations worldwide. One of the largest is on the coast of Orissa state in India. Now, the construction of a super port on the coast of Orissa threatens the existence of the Ridley sea turtles. Executive Director of Global Response, Paula Palmer chats with host Nikki Kayser about their latest campaign .

ProgressNow state partners serve as non-stop, multi-issue advocacy organizations. Year-round, they promote progressive ideas and causes with creative earned media strategies, targeted email campaigns, and cutting-edge new media. Working with our allies, they improve communications efforts of the entire progressive community in the state. Today, they have built an email list that exceeds 2.2 million people and generated thousands of news stories in local, state and national press. They have pushed the use of social technologies and new media, not only through their own organizations, but in partnership with their allies.
