Flash Flood Watch until 9pm

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Front Range Counties, The Palmer Divide, and Foothills until 9pm this evening.

Rain showers will become more numerous and heavier this afternoon along the Front Range. The heavier showers and a few embedded thunderstorms will be capable of producing up to 1.5 inches of rain in an hour, and heavier amounts will be possible with persistent showers and storms. This could produce Flash Flooding especially in areas that saw more significant rainfall last night. This includes the foothills, Front Range burn scars, and the Palmer Divide area across much of Douglas and Elbert counties.
