KGNU Water Coverage: Connecting the Drops

In March we'll hear about the beer industry and water conservation in Colorado. We'll also hear a report on small hydro power technology in the state.

On Sunday April 13th, from 5:00-6:00 PM we hosted another state-wide water call in show with KRCC in Colorado Springs and KDNK in Carbondale, on water & energy.

Our first water story aired July 25th, looking at the aquifer crisis in the San Luis Valley. Hear the story and see the pictures here.

The 2nd in the series, "Rethinking Reservoirs", aired Thursday August 22nd. You can hear the story and see the pictures here.

On Sunday September 15th, KGNU participated in a state-wide call in show as part of Connecting the Drops. In collaboration with KDNK in Carbondale and KRCC in Colorado Springs we hosted an hour-long discussion with listener calls focusing on the plight of the Colorado River. Taylor Hawes, Nature Conservancy's Colorado River program director who recently testified before a Senate committee on the Colorado River was the guest in studio at KGNU. Jim Pokrandt with the Colorado River District at KDNK and a representative from Colorado Springs Utilities joined us by phone.
