Habib Koite and Bamada with Zivanai Masango and Pachedu
Boulder Theater at 8:00pm, doors open at 7:00
21 and up show
Guitarist/singer/songwriter, Habib Koite returns to the Boulder Theater in a not to be missed show. With his band, Bamada, he will thrill you with his music. He is an amazing guitarist who I have for years compared to Jimi Hendrix (and, according to the description on the Boulder Theater website, so does Bonnie Raitt). When I first saw him at a WOMAD festival years ago, he was demonstrating how he composes for his band. First he played one part on his guitar, then a second part and played them together. When he added the third part and played the three pieces simultaneously I was won over. His music is infectious, moving and beautiful. From ballads to rap to rocking pop, he plays it all. Don't miss this show. If you've seen him before, you know; if not, come and find out.
